Biochemical reaction catalyzed by isocitrate dehydrogenase

     Isocitrate dehydrogenase catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to oxalosuccinate, a very labile compound which quickly loses CO2 while bound to the enzyme to yield a-ketoglutarate.
