Putative Identification: Identity to BAC T7N9, MITES-like genomic repeat
Position: 3559 to 3750

These 192 nt of T32N15 are 96.9% identical to the sequence of A. thaliana chromosome I BAC T7N9 (AC000348), position 63742 to 63933. Although Grail predicts a carboxyl-terminal exon from 3620 to 3759 and translation of this exon is nearly identical to protein T7N9.14 (a protein of 677 aa, similarity extends from residues 291 to 344), gene-prediction programs fail to assemble other exons in the vicinity into an mRNA sequence. It is more likely that, at 97% nucleotide sequence identity, this region is a MITES-like genomic repeat and is not encoded by a member of a multigene family.
